ULAN BATOR, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- A celebration marking the 15th anniversary of the Confucius Institute at the Mongolian National University of Education was held recently in Ulan Bator, capital of Mongolia.
President of the Mongolian National University of Education Jamiyansuren Batbaatar praised the achievements of the Confucius Institute over the past 15 years, saying that education helps promote trust and ties between countries.
Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Shen Minjuan said that the Confucius Institute at the Mongolian National University of Education has built a platform to promote educational cooperation between the two countries and foster mutual learning between civilizations.
She expressed hope that the institute will make greater contributions to friendship and cooperation between China and Mongolia.
The institute, the second one in the country, has trained more than 8,800 students over the years. ■
