HANOI, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- QR code transactions in Vietnam soared by 150.67 percent in value in the first nine months of this year, Vietnam News Agency reported Wednesday, citing the State Bank of Vietnam.
From January to September, QR code payment rose 61.63 percent in volume, making it the fastest-growing segment in the country's digital payment ecosystem, according to the central bank.
Overall non-cash payments rose 43.32 percent in volume and 24.23 percent in value over the period, indicating a shift from cash to electronic payments, the report said.
The central bank noted that most basic banking services have been digitalized, with many banks conducting 95 percent of transactions through digital channels. ■
