YANGON, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar police have seized more than 6.5 million stimulant tablets and over 29 kg of heroin in Myanmar's Sagaing region, the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) reported on Thursday.

According to the report, anti-narcotics police seized 6.52 million stimulant tablets on Sept. 14 and 29.23 kg of heroin on Oct. 13 in Kalay township of Sagaing region.

A total of six suspects were arrested in connection with the case, the report said.

Investigations showed that the drugs were trafficked from Mongyai township in northern Shan state to Kalay township in Sagaing region, the report said.

The suspects have been charged under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and further investigations are ongoing, the CCDAC said.
