COLOMBO, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's inflation is projected to settle at the Central Bank's 5 percent target next year, and the economy is expected to continue on a stable recovery path, Governor Nandalal Weerasinghe told the media in a press briefing on the Financial Stability Review 2025 held on Thursday.

He said that the Central Bank is maintaining its medium-term inflation target and is satisfied with the progress made so far.

He noted that financial stability indicators have improved in 2025, compared to the past two years, adding that the economy is now expanding at around 5 percent, which he described as a healthy pace following the severe downturn experienced during the crisis years.

According to the Central Bank's projections, growth next year is expected to remain within the range of 4 percent to 5 percent.

He added that the increase in import-related revenue helped the government outperform its fiscal forecast for 2025.
