SINGAPORE, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's digital economy accounted for 18.6 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2024, up from 14.9 percent in 2019, according to the Singapore Digital Economy Report 2025 released Monday by the Infocomm Media Development Authority.

In 2024, the digital economy expanded by 12 billion Singapore dollars (approximately 9.24 billion U.S. dollars), reaching a total value of 128.1 billion Singapore dollars.

The report highlighted that more than two-thirds of Singapore's digital economy came from non-information and communications sectors, showing that digital growth is not solely driven by technology companies but is increasingly embedded across industries.

Within the non-information and communications sectors, finance and insurance remained the top contributor, followed by wholesale trade and manufacturing. (1 Singapore dollar equals 0.77 U.S. dollars)
