SYDNEY, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Four boys, three aged 13 and one aged 11, were arrested and charged after an alleged attempted break-in on a home in Moree, a town in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW), in the early hours of Saturday.
Officers were told five boys were allegedly kicking the front door of a home shortly before 3:20 a.m. local time on Saturday, when they were confronted by a 56-year-old man who lived there, said NSW Police in a statement.
The police said that the man was allegedly hit in the head with a rock and his left forearm slashed with a knife during a fight. The boys left when a witness intervened.
Police officers were alerted and attended a property in Moree a short time later, arresting the four boys and taking them to the police station, where the boys had been charged.
All four had been refused bail, and the fifth boy is being sought by police. ■
