NEW DELHI, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Indian government has extended the tenure of Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan by eight months, officials said Thursday.
The approval for the extension was granted by the government's Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Wednesday night.
Chauhan, 64, was appointed as CDS on Sept. 28, 2022. His current stint was scheduled to end on Sept. 30 this year. ■
