COLOMBO, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka earned 11.55 billion U.S. dollars from exports during the first eight months of 2025, the Export Development Board (EDB) said in its latest statement on Tuesday.
The EDB said that the exports increased 6.61 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
In August, total exports, both merchandise and services, were 1.6 billion dollars, the EDB said.
The EDB said the strong performance underscores resilience in both the merchandise and services sectors and expressed confidence that Sri Lanka will meet its 2025 export target. ■
