BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Brunei Infocommunication Technology Award (BICTA) has been an important platform in promoting healthy competition and innovation among individuals, students and organizations across both the public and private sectors, a senior official said on Thursday.
Brunei's success in hosting the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) awards in 2024 was also a meaningful achievement, as it strengthened the country's position and inspired further efforts to enhance the quality of BICTA in the future, said Haji Mohammad Nazri Haji Mohammad Yusof, permanent secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, at the BICTA 2025 ceremony.
He said BICTA 2025 maintains the theme of "Smart Nation through Digital Transformation," which emphasizes innovation and the exploration of new technologies, in line with Brunei's efforts to build digital ecosystems that can drive economic growth and improve community well-being. ■
