DHAKA, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's Election Commission (EC) on Thursday announced its roadmap for the country's 13th national election.

Akhtar Ahmed, senior EC secretary, made the announcement at a press conference here, highlighting 24 priority tasks, including finalization of constituency boundaries, voter lists, political party registration, and accreditation of domestic observers.

He said that the national election is set for the first half of February next year and the election schedule will be announced in the first half of December this year.

The final voter list is expected to be published in November, he added.

In line with the announced roadmap, the commission will start dialogue with stakeholders, including representatives of political parties, civil society members, observers and journalists in the last week of September.

Bangladesh's EC on Wednesday approved an action plan for the country's 13th National Parliamentary Election.

Earlier this month, Bangladeshi interim government's Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus sent a letter to the Election Commission, asking to organize the general election in February 2026.
