YANGON, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar aims to export over 40,000 tons of pineapples in the 2025-26 fiscal year, the state-owned Myanmar Radio and Television reported on Tuesday.
In Myanmar, there are two types of farms, organic farm and local GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) farm, which grow pineapples using technology from China, Thailand, and Sri Lanka, the report said.
Shan and Kachin states are the main pineapple-growing areas, it said.
In the past, pineapples were grown mainly for local consumption, but now they are also cultivated for export, it added. ■
