COLOMBO, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lankan exports during the first six months of 2025 exceeded 8.3 billion U.S. dollars, the country's Export Development Board (EDB) said on Monday.
In a statement to the media, EDB said total exports in the above period were 8.33 billion dollars, a 6.7 percent growth compared to the same period in 2024.
Total exports for June 2025, including merchandise and services, were 1.46 billion dollars, a year-on-year growth of 8.73 percent, the EDB said.
From January to June 2025, merchandise exports totaled 6.5 billion dollars, a 5.86 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024. During the same time, services exports increased by 9.78 percent, totaling 1.83 billion dollars, according to the data.
The EDB expects export revenue to reach 18.2 billion dollars in 2025. In 2024, Sri Lanka recorded 16.2 billion dollars in export revenue. ■
