BISHKEK, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan had 45,500 registered unemployed individuals as of July 1, marking a 21.9 percent drop from the same time last year, according to official data released Monday.
A total of 65,400 people were registered with the state employment service and actively seeking work, down 19.7 percent year on year, the country's labor ministry said.
Women made up at least 45.5 percent of those unemployed, while the unemployment rate stood at 1.6 percent of the total labor force. ■
