India's forex reserves fall to 696.67 bln USD

NEW DELHI, July 18 (Xinhua) -- India's foreign exchange reserves fell 3.064 billion U.S. dollars to 696.672 billion dollars during the week ending on July 11, according to the central bank on Friday.

This was the second consecutive week that the country's forex reserves had fallen over 3 billion dollars. During the preceding week, India's forex reserves had decreased 3.049 billion dollars.

The data showed that the country's foreign currency assets fell 2.477 billion dollars to 588.810 billion dollars, while gold reserves fell 498 million dollars to 84.348 billion dollars.

The special drawing rights declined 66 million dollars to 18.802 billion dollars, and the country's position at the International Monetary Fund stood at 4.711 billion dollars.
