PHNOM PENH, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian authorities have arrested a total of 2,270 suspects, including 424 women, in the latest crackdown on online scam centers across the kingdom, Information Minister Neth Pheaktra said on Friday.
Pheaktra said the authorities have raided 45 locations in 12 cities and provinces out of the kingdom's 25 cities and provinces.
Some ringleaders have been sent to courts for prosecution, while most others will be deported back to their birth countries.
The nationwide crackdown on cybercrime was launched on Monday. ■
