TOKYO, July 9 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was injured after a gas cylinder exploded Wednesday at a university in the city of Saitama near Tokyo, local media reported.
Firefighters received a report around 11:20 a.m. local time that a cylinder had exploded during an experiment on the premises of Saitama University's Faculty of Engineering, Kyodo News reported.
A woman was hurt in the explosion, but she remains conscious, the report said.
According to the university, the blast took place outside the Faculty of Engineering building. ■
