COLOMBO, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's benchmark All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) surpassed the 18,000 mark for the first time on Monday.
By noon time, the ASPI increased by 129.23 points to 18,001.97. The benchmark rose 153.98 points to close at 18,026.72 on Monday.
Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 increased by 69.45 points to close at 5,352.51.
Last week, ASPI was up 4.6 percent and the active S&P SL20 by 3.6 percent.
The ASPI measures the movements of the overall market, while the S&P SL20 follows the performance of 20 leading publicly traded companies listed on the CSE. ■
