ISLAMABAD, June 5 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was killed while seven others were injured in a traffic accident involving multiple vehicles in Pakistan's southern Sindh province on Thursday, local authorities confirmed to Xinhua.
According to Rescue 1122, the incident occurred in the Hyderabad district when two water tankers collided due to overspeeding and an attempt to overtake each other.
"The high-speed competition between the two tankers led to the crash, affecting several other vehicles, including two passenger vans, a car, and a loader rickshaw," a Rescue 1122 official told Xinhua. "Seven people were injured, and two of them are in critical condition."
All the injured were shifted to Hyderabad Civil Hospital for medical treatment, the official said.
Following the incident, traffic flow on the road was severely disrupted, causing delays in the surrounding area. ■
