YANGON, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Four women from a family were killed early Thursday in a house fire in central Myanmar's Mandalay region, an official from the Kyaukse Township Fire Services Department told Xinhua.
The fire broke out around 1:40 a.m. local time in Kyaukse township and was caused by a solar battery malfunction, the official said, adding that all four victims died at the scene.
The deceased were identified as retired and current school teachers, he said.
Their bodies were sent to a local hospital. An investigation is ongoing, he added. ■
