India's forex reserves rise to 690.617 bln USD

NEW DELHI, May 17 (Xinhua) -- India's foreign exchange reserves increased by 4.553 billion U.S. dollars to 690.617 billion dollars during the week ended May 9, showed the latest weekly data released by country's central bank the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

During the said week, while the foreign currency assets rose by 196 million dollars to 581.373 billion dollars, the Gold Reserves increased by 4.518 billion dollars to 86.337 billion dollars.

The RBI's data also revealed that India's special drawing rights decreased by 26 million dollars to 18.532 billion dollars, and the country's reserves position at the International Monetary Fund decreased by 134 million dollars to 4.374 billion dollars.
