BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Fourteen families affected by recent fires, house collapses, floods, and strong wind incidents have received financial assistance from Brunei's Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, local media reported on Sunday.
Brunei's minister of culture, youth and sports distributed the aid to four families affected by a fire incident, one in a house collapse, six families affected by floods and three in strong wind incidents, according to the local daily Borneo Bulletin.
Brunei is an oil-rich country located in the northern part of Borneo Island, with a population of 455,500 residents and a high level of social welfare. ■
