Indonesia records state budget deficit of 1.9 billion USD in early 2025

JAKARTA, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia recorded a state budget deficit of 31.2 trillion rupiah (about 1.9 billion U.S. dollars), or 0.13 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP), Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati announced on Thursday.

"This deficit remains within the target range of the state budget, which is 2.53 percent of GDP or 616.2 trillion rupiah," Indrawati stated during a press conference on Thursday.

As of February 2025, state revenue reached 316.9 trillion rupiah, or 10.5 percent of the annual target of 3,005.1 trillion rupiah. Tax revenues accounted for 9.7 percent of the target.

On the expenditure side, state spending by the end of February 2025 reached 348.1 trillion rupiah, standing at 9.6 percent of the target of 3,621.3 trillion rupiah. Central government spending totaled 7.8 percent of the target, while payments to regional governments reached 14.9 percent. (1 U.S. dollar equals about 16,420 rupiahs)
