SINGAPORE, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's economy grew by 4.3 percent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2024, marking a slowdown from the 5.4 percent growth recorded in the third quarter, according to advance estimates released by the Ministry of Trade and Industry on Thursday.
On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally adjusted basis, the economy expanded by 0.1 percent, a moderation from the 3.2 percent growth registered in the previous quarter, the ministry reported.
For the full year, Singapore's economy grew by 4.0 percent, faster the 1.1 percent growth in 2023.
In his New Year message on Wednesday, Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong remarked that the 4.0 percent growth in 2024 exceeds expectations. ■
