KABUL, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Construction of a road has begun in the Dasht-e-Archi district of north Afghanistan's Kunduz province, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Saturday.
According to the report, the 20-km-long project would cost 500 million afghani (about 7.1 million U.S. dollars) and is expected to be completed within 18 months.
The report added that the road's construction development project will help people with their transportation and facilitate local agricultural products to the market.
The Afghan caretaker government, by launching development projects in different provinces, plans to create job opportunities for people. ■
