India's forex reserves decline to 688.267 bln USD

NEW DELHI, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- India's foreign exchange (forex) reserves decreased by 2.163 billion U.S. dollars to 688.267 billion dollars during the week ended Oct. 18, revealed the weekly data released by the country's central bank the Reserve Bank of India on Friday.

This was the third consecutive week when the country's forex reserves have decreased. During the previous week the forex reserves had fallen by 10.746 billion dollars, which was the biggest decline in nearly three years.

The foreign currency assets, the biggest component of forex reserves, decreased by 3.865 billion dollars to 598.236 billion dollars. Gold reserves increased by 1.786 billion dollars to 67.444 billion dollars.
