MANILA, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Wednesday said it approved a grant of 86.67 million U.S. dollars to help Tajikistan further improve national road connectivity by developing a demonstration green corridor in the Central Asian country.
The project will upgrade the existing degraded two-lane 49-kilometer Dangara-Guliston road and widen it to four lanes. It also promises to fund two pilot charging stations and develop investment frameworks to catalyze private sector investment in a national charging infrastructure rollout.
The ADB said the Tajikistan government will offer 23 million dollars to fund the project, which is due to be completed in 2030. ■
