ISLAMABAD, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Eight terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Thursday.
Security forces conducted the operation in Razmak area of North Waziristan district of the province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, said in a statement.
During the operation, an intense fire exchange took place between security forces and terrorists, and eight terrorists were killed, the ISPR said, adding that the killed terrorists were actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as killing of innocent civilians.
The statement said that a huge cache of weapons and explosives was also recovered during the operation. ■
