HONG KONG, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 jolted 72 km west of Pangai, Tonga, at 23:29 GMT on Sunday (07:29 Beijing Time), the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 106.7 km, was initially determined to be at 19.75 degrees south latitude and 175.04 degrees west longitude. ■
