BISHKEK, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan's gross domestic product (GDP) for January to July 2024 increased by 8.7 percent year-on-year and amounted to about 8 billion U.S. dollars, the country's National Statistics Committee reported Friday.
It said that the volume of industrial output for seven months of this year increased by 0.8 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
The growth was mainly created by an increase in the production of refined petroleum products, wood and paper products, food products and tobacco products, among others.
There are also positive trends in several other sectors, including construction, agriculture, wholesale and retail trade, transportation of goods and hotel and restaurant services, the committee said. ■
