HANOI, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- More than 95,200 new enterprises were established in Vietnam in the first seven months of 2024, a year-on-year increase of 6.3 percent, according to the General Statistics Office.
The combined registered capital of those businesses reached 854.6 trillion Vietnamese dong (33.9 billion U.S. dollars), increasing 2.4 percent year on year.
The number of new firms established in the period rose 6.8 percent in the services sector, 4.8 percent in the industry and construction sector, and decreased 2.8 percent in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector compared to the same period last year.
Between January and July, nearly 44,300 firms that previously ceased operations resumed their activities.
However, in the same period, over 17,900 firms were estimated to withdraw from the market each month, according to the office. ■
