HONG KONG, July 31 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 hit 82 km ENE of Levuka, Fiji at 1518 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 600.1 km, was initially determined to be at 17.66 degrees south latitude and 179.97 degrees east longitude.
Earlier, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences reported the quake's magnitude to be 5.1. ■
