NEW DELHI, July 19 (Xinhua) -- The death toll in a train derailment in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh rose to four Friday, officials said.
"One person succumbed to the injuries in a Lucknow hospital and another body was recovered from a coach of the train today," an official said. "Two other injured are in serious condition at Lucknow's trauma center."
The derailment of Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express took place Thursday afternoon in Gonda district, about 117 km northeast of Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the district magistrate of Gonda, Neha Sharma, 32 passengers were injured in the accident after several coaches of the train jumped the tracks. ■
