NEW DELHI, July 12 (Xinhua) -- India's factory activity growth, determined by the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), grew 5.9 percent in May, government data showed Friday.
For the month of May 2024, the quick estimates of IIP with base 2011-12 stood at 154.2 against 145.6 in May 2023, according to data issued by the federal Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
The indices of industrial production for the mining, manufacturing and electricity sectors for May 2024 stood at 136.5, 149.7 and 229.3 respectively, data showed.
IIP witnessed a growth of 5 percent in April. ■
