KABUL, July 2 (Xinhua) -- The recently concluded third round of UN-convened talks on Afghanistan in Doha was productive, said Zabihullah Mujahid, head of the Afghan delegation at the conference.

Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, declared the third meeting held in Doha a resounding success, saying Afghanistan's messages were conveyed to all participating countries, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Tuesday.

During the two-day conference, which ended on Monday in the Qatari capital of Doha, delegates from more than 25 countries discussed various matters related to Afghanistan, including issues such as checking drugs, supporting the private sector, removing sanctions on the Afghan banking system, and engaging with the administration in Kabul.

"Afghanistan requires cooperation from countries in the areas of private sector collaboration, combating narcotics, and alternative livelihoods. Most countries expressed their willingness to cooperate in these areas," the state media quoted Mujahid as saying.

The Afghan caretaker government was not invited to the first round of the UN-sponsored Doha conference and refused to attend the second meeting, but for the third one, Mujahid stated his country wishes to have positive engagement with all the countries.
