TASHKENT, June 17 (Xinhua) -- The number of cars per 100 households in Uzbekistan has nearly tripled in the last 14 years, according to the state statistics agency.
Sampling surveys for households showed that in January-May this year, the average number of cars per 100 households in Uzbekistan was 57, compared to 21 in 2010, the agency said in a recent report.
In 2015, the average number of cars per 100 households in the country was 42, and the number increased to 49 in 2020.
Uzbekistan imported 73,204 automobiles in 2023, and 17,553 vehicles in the first two months this year, with the majority of them coming from China, according to local media reports. ■
