YANGON, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's 2024 State and Regional Swimming Competition will be held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, Khun Jar Aung, a director from the Sports and Physical Education Department under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs told Xinhua on Monday.
Organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs in cooperation with the Myanmar Swimming Federation, the competition will take place on June 12 and 13, he said.
The swimming competition has not been held since 2018, but it is being resumed this year, he added.
The aim of the competition is to foster a new generation of swimmers and prepare them for international competitions.
A total of 132 swimming athletes will participate in the competition, Khun Jar Aung said. ■
