SYDNEY, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Two people, in their 70s and 60s respectively, were injured after a paraglider crashed in the Australian state of Victoria on Monday.
Victoria Police confirmed in a statement that emergency services responded to the incident which occurred in Elphinstone.
The paraglider is believed to have crashed on Potts Road just after 11:00 a.m. local time.
Police noted that a 70-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman were transported to a hospital, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.
"The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined at this stage," said Victoria Police, also calling on any witness to provide related information.
Earlier, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning of damaging winds for residents in parts of Victoria's Central, East Gippsland, North Central, North East, West and South Gippsland and South West Forecast Districts.
Elphinstone is a rural village located in central Victoria, approximately 100 km northwest of Melbourne. ■
