YANGON, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 55 kg of heroin in the Sagaing Region, the Information Team of Myanmar's State Administration Council reported on late Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a vehicle in Kalay Town of Sagaing Region on May 31 and found the heroin inside, the report said.
The seized narcotics are valued at 2.75 billion kyats (1.3 million U.S. dollars), it said.
According to the investigation, the seized narcotics were transported from Shan State to Kalay Town of Sagaing Region. Four suspects were arrested in the case, the report said. ■
