HANOI, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam posted a budget collection of 898.4 trillion Vietnamese dong (35.2 billion U.S. dollars) from January to May, up 14.8 percent year on year, according to the latest statistics of the country's General Statistics Office.
Domestic revenue over the months surged 16.8 percent from the same period of last year to 757.5 trillion dong (29.7 billion dollars), while the revenue from import-export activities increased 7.8 percent to 116.2 trillion dong (4.5 billion dollars), reaching 57 percent of the whole year's estimate.
Vietnam's budget spending during the cited period stood at 656.7 trillion dong (25.8 billion dollars), said the office.
The Southeast Asian country set more than 1.7 quadrillion dong (nearly 69.8 billion dollars) for total state budget collection in 2024.
The country also estimated over 2.1 quadrillion dong (86.2 billion dollars) for state budget spending this year, according to the Ministry of Finance. ■
