Permanent art fair opens in Afghan capital

KABUL, May 30 (Xinhua) -- A permanent art exhibition has opened in the Afghan capital city of Kabul, local media reported.

"Today's exhibition includes all sections. About 70 items of artworks from various fields are permanently exhibited in this exhibition," Ahmad Jawid Paaya, head of higher education for architecture and arts at Firuzkoh Institute, was quoted as saying.

The pieces include jewelry, miniature, engravings and calligraphy art products.

Established in 2006, Firuzkoh Institute aims to restore Afghan arts, architecture, ceramics and crafts, and train Afghan students in restoring and producing ancient artifacts.
