JAKARTA, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo met with Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Mathias Cormann here on Tuesday, discussing OECD's plans to continue Indonesia's accession process toward full membership.
"The goal of this meeting is to provide the latest information regarding the accession process and the steps that have been or need to be taken by the Indonesian government," Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said.
Indonesia's bid for the membership was accepted at the Ministerial Council Meeting, which marked the 10th anniversary of the OECD Southeast Asia Regional Program (SEARP) in early May, held in Paris, France.
Indonesia plans to establish a special team soon to achieve full membership in three years and to draft an initial memorandum in the next 250 days.
Similarly, in order to boost investment potential in island nations and align it with other OECD members, OECD will survey Indonesia's economic conditions. ■
