KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and 35 others injured in a highway accident in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province, a local police official said Sunday.
The traffic accident took place when a bus veered off the road due to overspeeding and overturned in the province's Shahr-e-Safa district along a highway linking Kandahar with the national capital Kabul, spokesperson for provincial police Zabihullah Jawhar said.
Among the injured, 15 were reported in critical condition, Jawhar added. ■
