ISLAMABAD, May 17 (Xinhua) -- The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) of Pakistan seized over 130 kg of drugs and arrested five drug traffickers in various operations across the country, the ANF said on Friday.
The ANF said in a statement that the force conducted five separate operations and seized drugs, including opium, methamphetamine-filled capsules and hashish.
The force conducted operations in southwest Gwadar and Quetta districts of Balochistan province, seizing nearly 80 kg of narcotics while arresting two drug traffickers.
In another raid, around 215 grams of methamphetamine-filled capsules were recovered from the possession of a smuggler arrested near the Nadra chowk area of Torkham, a northwest town located near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Separately, the ANF carried out operations in eastern Khushab and Attock districts of Punjab, and recovered over 56 kg of narcotics including opium and hashish. Two traffickers were also arrested during the operations.
Separate cases have been registered against the arrested while further investigations are underway, said ANF officials. ■
