Afghanistan trades goods worth 10.3 bln USD in 12 months

KABUL, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan exported and imported commercial goods worth 10.3 billion U.S. dollars during the Persian calendar year of 1402 through March 19, National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) reported Wednesday.

Afghanistan exported goods worth about 1.78 billion dollars, while importing goods worth 8.58 billion dollars during the cited period, spokesperson of NSIA, Mohammad Halim Rafi, told Xinhua.

The major exports included fruits, herbal medicines, minerals, and vegetables, said Rafi, adding that the major import items were petroleum products, oils, machinery, vehicles, apparatus, and metals and metal products.

The major markets for Afghanistan's exported goods included Pakistan, India, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), China and Iran, and the major sources of imports included Iran, Pakistan, China, and the UAE, Rafi said.
