VIENTIANE, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Southeast Asia Regional Forum on Ensuring Equal Access to Quality Early Childhood Care and Education opened in Lao capital Vientiane on Tuesday, discussing ways to improve the quality of early childhood education.
"This meeting is a platform that will help participants learn from each other's lessons on early childhood care and education for the better development of our children, as well as to achieve the country's socio-economic development plan in 2030," Lao National Radio on Tuesday quoted Director General of the Department of Early Childhood Education under the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, Siphaphone Manivanh, as saying.
During the meeting, participants discussed topics such as enhancing the transition from preschool to primary school, financing for early childhood care and education, early childhood education and care, among others. ■
