BANGKOK, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's stock investor confidence held steady in March as hopes were pinned on government's stimulus package while fund outflow weighed down sentiment, a survey showed on Tuesday.

The investor confidence index, which predicts market conditions over the next three months, stood at 106.91 last month, barely changed compared to 106.88 in February, and remained in the "neutral zone", according to the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations (FETCO).

Confidence varied across several types of investors, with retail investors down 6.5 percent, proprietary investors up 14.3 percent, institutional investors up 16.1 percent and foreign investors unchanged, the FETCO said in a statement.

The FETCO noted that calls on the Bank of Thailand to reduce its policy interest rates to stimulate economic recovery and shore up the stock market, as well as the tourism recovery trend and the government's fiscal budget disbursement, are factors to be monitored.
