KABUL, April 8 (Xinhua) -- At least three travelers were killed and 10 others injured in a traffic accident in east Afghanistan's Laghman province, local media outlet TOLOnews reported Monday.
The incident occurred in the outskirts of Dawlat Shah district of the province, the local TV quoted Abdul Noor Rasuli, the provincial director of information and culture, as saying.
Similarly, five commuters were killed and four others injured in two road mishaps in south Afghanistan on Saturday.
Hundreds of people lose their lives in traffic accidents in Afghanistan each year due to poor road conditions, difficult terrains, overloading, and overspeeding. ■
