DHAKA, March 14 (Xinhua) -- A total of 1.07 million Bangladeshi children are engaged in various hazardous occupations, figures released at an event in Dhaka on Thursday showed.
According to the National Child Survey 2022 conducted by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, there are 39.96 million children aged between five and 17 years in the country.
Out of 3.54 million working children in the country, 1.78 million are child laborers, while 1.07 million are engaged in hazardous work, the survey showed. ■
