JAKARTA, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Inactive Supreme Court Secretary Hasbi Hasan was sentenced to 13 years and eight months in prison, as well as a fine of 1 billion rupiah (about 64,000 U.S. dollars), for a bribery case of 11.2 billion rupiah (about 715,000 dollars), at the Corruption Crime Court in Jakarta on Thursday.

Prosecutor for the Corruption Eradication Commission Ariawan Agustiartono said that Hasan's acceptance of bribes to conduct the bankruptcy case to win the case at the Supreme Court's cassation level for Heryanto Tanaka, the debtor of the Intidana savings and credit cooperative (KSP), was proven.

Hasan violated the Criminal Code Law, Agustiartono said.

In addition, Hasan will have to pay compensation of 3.88 billion rupiah (about 250,000 dollars) within a month of the court's decision, failing which the state will seize his property.
