SEOUL, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Six local and foreign carmakers in South Korea will voluntarily recall some 54,800 vehicles for manufacturing defects, the transport ministry said Wednesday.
Tesla Korea will recall 51,785 units of four different models, including Model 3, for the dashboard letter size smaller than standards, as well as 852 units of two models such as Model X to fix the rear camera software error, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Kia Corp. will recall 366 units of EV6 for a defective power transmission system in the rear wheels and 92 units of Niro EV for a faulty power transmission system in the front wheels.
Hyundai Motor will recall 641 units of three models, including Ioniq 5, for the rear-wheel power transmission defects, while GS Global, a local importer of BYD vehicles, will recall 606 units of five models containing NEW BYD eBus-12 for the bus boarding system below standards.
Ford Sales & Service Korea will recall 350 units of Navigator to fix the defective rear cameras, while Bumhan Mobility, a domestic importer of Huanghai vehicles, will recall 100 units of two models such as E-SKY11 for the bus boarding system below standards.
Vehicle owners can visit repair and service centers to replace faulty parts free of charge. ■
